Thoughts

Yvette Murrell Eulogy Reverend Simon Ward: Many of you here will have your own thoughts and memories of Yvette. The family have asked me to share a few of theirs with you today. Lisa remembers her beautiful sister Yvette as the most kindest, thoughtful, caring and loving human she knows. Lisa loved you from the day you were born. When Yvette was welcomed into the world, she would always call Yvette “my baby” as she was her precious baby sister. She will love and miss you her whole life and beyond. She knows their loving mum and dad will be looking after you. Yvette’s younger brother, Grant, says the moment he was born Yvette popped her head around the door and upon seeing him she declared “Two blues eyes sticking up”. At that moment and at every other moment that Yvette entered a room she would fill it with her kind, caring, considerate, thoughtful and loving nature. She would effortlessly fill any room, and everyone in it, with her happiness. This made Yvette memorable, unforgettable and simply irreplaceable. She is missed greatly yet, at the same time, her warmth is felt constantly. Grant wants us all to remember her today, and everyday, by sharing a little of her love and happiness everywhere we go. Thank you Yvette for being my wonderful Sister, and he will always be your brother. With all his love, now and forever. Yvette was a very special person to her 3 children. She always had a cheerful and expressive smile on her face that would light up the room. As their mum would always want the best for them and supported them in every situation they were in. As mum was very family orientated this meant she gave up her time to spend every second with her family. Don't get her wrong she was very happy once the children got older as it was so much easier. Any celebrations in the house was a huge deal. It was in her soul to make sure everything was perfect for the people who she loved and cared for. Some examples are at every Christmas Guy would get shortbread, which he loved. Bonnie’s stocking was filled to the brim with every little thing she loved and Beau always got the one gift he was after that year, despite the many hours of shop hunting involved. All of the family will always appreciate the special birthday meals where they spent quality time together whilst reminiscing on loving memories. Yvette, “ Our Mum”, loved her home comforts which would be her special mug, full of tea along with custard creams for dunking. In the evenings watching Only Fools and Horses where she knew nearly every line or scene. Loving the Jolly Boys Outing episode. Reminding her of the joyous family trips to Margate as a child. If it wasnt that programme it would be Gavin and Stacey, where she earned a nickname “Mumma Pam”. We would be on the sofa rolling in laughter at the scenes. When Bonnie would tell mum the latest gossip, Mum would do a fantastic Pam impression with hands on the head saying “ It’s all the drama Mick, I just love it”. When Mum and Dad went to Barry Island last year she surprised the family by showing how much it meant to her. This included having a photo outside Boofy’s which was the last scene in Gavin and Stacey. Also, to Bonnie’s surprise sending a video of her quoting Pam Shipman with all the hand actions and everything to share with Bonnie’s friends. When Guy was taking part in his athletics training, Mum knew how much it meant to him, so she would take him , no matter how bad the weather. But she never made him forget the effort this involved. When Guy was younger he was such a mummy’s boy, snuggling onto the sofa and holding her hand. Broke Mum's heart once he got out of that stage. Guy has a memory of when in the mornings mum and Guy would do a 1 ½ mile round trip of taking Bonnie to school and then going on to take Guy to school. On the way back they would go to the bakers on Northgate Street and get cheese straws as Mum knew these were Guy's favourites. Everyone knows Mum liked a good chat. And Guy says Mum would often pop into his room late at night for a catch up and chatting for hours. Mum was very proud of where she came from and a proper London girl, still loving Pie, Mash & Liquor whenever she had the chance. She did love her seaside town. One of Beau’s favourite shared times with Mum was watching the summer fireworks at Yarmouth and Hemsby. Going to the seafront would often include a Mr Whippy ice cream, her favourite place was Perry’s. Mum has never been a huge fan of animals. However, her love for the lambs at Hirsty’s at spring time was a different scenario. This is a reflection of how her Dad, Jim, loved nature. Mum absolutely loved Hirsty's. She was so upset once “The Kids” got too old for it. This didn't stop her though. One day she thought she would go on their bouncing pillow for a photo for facebook. With this she hurt her back, but she didn't have the guts to tell the doctors why her back was in pain. However, the family has photo proof of this. “The Kids”, as they will always be known, also want to make some promises to their mum. Bonnie promises to still say ‘ Oooh, don't wet yourself’ when she hears Andy Williams: Most Wonderful Time Of Year They promise to continue to buy Daz in the red box, and blue lenor or fairy fabric conditioner They promise on the 11th September to continue to buy red roses and a Sainsbury’s victoria sponge cake for Nan Molly’s birthday. Bonnie promises when she steps into their happy place, Primark, to look at the time and see how long it takes to pick up an item. Mum’s record was about 5 seconds. Guy promises to take photos or be in photos even when he feels reluctant too. Beau promises to keep making you proud everyday. Bonnie promises to still always be your best friend. Bonnie promises to look after your boys. They promise to keep your memory alive and think of you everyday. They would just like to end this with one of mum’s favourite quotes that always made her smile, by Mark Twain ‘ The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up’.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
